We are seeking to find out stories about the roles of women within companies who have invented, developed or manufactured items within our collection, including Bentalls of Heybridge over the last 100 years, with the aim that this information will inform a new exhibition. To give us a starting point we are asking volunteers to look online and collate a list of websites that have relevant information.
Women’s role in engineering over the past 100 years has been substantial and not sufficiently celebrated. Your help is needed to undertaking an initial trawl around the internet and identifying web-sites which could give us a place to start the journey to finding out what women have achieved in the last 100 years. This project can be undertaken at your own pace at home or come and share the fun at the Museum
